Associate Director, Financial Aid

Job Purpose

To provide complex financial aid services to students at the College and assist in providing technical support in the administration of financial aid programs.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Reviews student financial aid applications and determines eligibility based on federal and state regulations, using judgment and interpretive thinking skills. Awards financial aid funds and certifies student loan applications.
  2. Advises students and parents regarding financial aid programs, application procedures, award packaging, and debt management.
  3. Conducts financial aid outreach programs at local and area high schools, outside agencies, and community groups.
  4. Applies federal and state regulations to all aspects of financial aid programs.
  5. Provides assistance with various phases of the College Work Study program.
  6. Assists with liaising between the Financial Aid office and various departments within the College.
  7. Assists with general reporting and maintenance of databases as required.
  8. May work in a specialty area such as Scholarships, Grants (State and Federal), Continuing Education programs, or Title IV recalculations.
